How many times have you hear the phrase “I bet you that….” or “Wanna bet”? It’s something that we all throw around when we know we’re right about one thing or another. But some people take it to another level. A whole other level that actually requires them to follow this advice. If you think you’ve heard it all – think again! Here are the 6 most mind-blowing bets ever made.
Babydaddy at 100? No problem.
A 58-year old man in California, USA apparently accepted a bet that he could “rise to the occasion” and father a baby (the good old fashioned way) at the ripe old age of 100. Now, with or without the help of a little blue pill was apparently not part of the bed and whether or not this guy won the bet (which by the way came is 10,000 to 1 odds). This guy on the other hand, is not 100 years old yet, but I’ll bet my money on him.
Aliens in Oregon
A fabulously wacky couple in Oregon, USA accepted a bet with 5000 to 1 odds that before the end of the 20th century the US (or UK) government would publically confirm that aliens exist and that there have been extraterrestrial sightings. We’re hoping it was a gentleman’s bet because as we all now, the end of the last millennium has come and gone and no such announcements were made.
Tiger Woods for US President!
Apparently folks in the UK had some idea that one day American would be lead by a handsome, charismatic African American man. It seems though that the but their bets on the wrong guy. The man in question was instead TIger Woods, gold legend. Bookies in the UK posted 1,000 to 1 odds that this record breaking athlete would one day be elected President of the United States. Too bad they didn’t bet that he would cheat on his wife and turn out to be a complete idiot.
Apocalypse Now (or Later)
Matthew Dumbrell, a resident of London, bet (with million to 1 odds) that the world as we know it would end before the end of the 21st century. Lo and behold, we’re all around and still kickin’ – as is our beautiful planet. Again, we wonder what Matthew actually bet on and we hope that his family is still talking to him.
Elvis Has Left the Building (Hasn’t he?)
A great many Elvis fans still believe strongly that Elvis is indeed alive. Some people however, are ready to put their money where their mouths are and bet on it! A little while back, 500 to 1 odds were posted that the FBI could indeed confirm that Elvis was still alive. We wonder how much longer this will go on for because alive or dead, Elvis ain’t gettin’ any younger.
Michael or Latoya – or Michoya?
Speaking to trying to get the FBI to confirm a rumor, this bet (also given 500 to 1 odds) was to confirm that Michael Jackson and his sister Latoya Jackson are indeed the same person. Being that we’re pretty sure that Latoya is still alive, this could go hand in hand with those who believe that Michael is still alive. We wonder how the FBI would go about carrying out such an investigation… Better this rock lay unturned.
